CNAF Refuels Shenzhen Special Economic Zone

Updated: 2020-09-15

China National Aviation Fuel Group Limited (CNAF), joined hands with Shenzhen Airport Group and UK-based BP to launch Chengyuan Aviation Oil in Shenzhen in 1991, the beginning of CNAF's involvement with aviation oil in the city.

Support national policies, urban development

Adhering to the principle of providing civil aviation enterprises and guaranteeing national aviation supply security, CNAF highly supported urban development.

To ensure safe and reliable aviation oil supply to Shenzhen, Chengyuan Aiviation Oil improved the capacity of the oil depot. The company is now capable of storing more than 70,000 cubic meters of aviation oil.

In addition, it has built an oil pier, large enough for two 5,000-ton oil vessels to berth at the same time, and can supply more than 1,400 cubic meters of aviation oil per hour by apron pipeline.

Chengyuan Aviation Oil now offers aviation oil services to more than 100 civil airlines, providing oil for flights from Shenzhen to 120 domestic cities and 62 cities of other countries and regions.

So far, the company has refueled more than 15.7 million tons of aviation oil and served 2.4 million flights since its establishment in 1991.

It takes special measures to support construction of the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area and China's 14th Five-Year Plan (2021-25) and expects to play a leading role in state-owned enterprises' reform and development.

Build internationally leading aviation oil enterprise via innovation

CNAF respects good management and has made great efforts to achieve high-quality development in that area.

Chengyuan Aviation Oil launched detailed and scientific regulations to optimize management, promote performance assessment reform and strengthen capacity to handle serious emergencies. It has also specified the legal framework for oil payment collection.

Innovations in management and operation have been a highlight of Chengyuan Aviation Oil. The company developed a GX-3800 hydrant dispenser and a cold light resource-based anti-collision system in 1996.

It went on to promote the reform of the business flight refueling payment model in 2015.

So far, the company has developed 18 technical achievements, which are crucial contributions to the aviation oil industry.

Fulfill social responsibilities

In addition to supporting national development and innovating operations, CNAF fulfilled its social responsibilities as a central SOE, joining in the fight against the COVID-19 pandemic and poverty.

During the outbreak, the company provided aviation oil to more than 80 critical supply transport flights.

The company also played a significant role in accurately and reliably offering oil service particularly when Shenzhen became an international medical supply transport hub as the pandemic raged around the world.

CNAF has not lagged in the battle against poverty in China. For example, it helped its targeted poverty alleviation village market their agricultural products.

CNAF will continue to support Shenzhen's development and will promote regional resource sharing and coordinated development, contributing to national strategies including construction of the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area in respect of aviation oil supply.
