First Load-Center Substation in Xiongan New Area Goes into Operation

Updated: July 07, 2021

The 220-kilovolt Jucun substation in North China's Hebei Province, the first load center substation in Xiongan New Area, recently went into operation, laying a solid foundation for regional development.

Located in Rongdong district - the first resettlement area in Xiongan - the substation project started construction in September 2019 and included two 180-megavolt-ampere main transformers.

The project was intended as a smart urban energy "symbiote" that sits comfortably within its surrounding environment. Designers sought to make it the first quality green substation; a fabricated substation built to the highest standards in China.

Upon operation, the project will meet the power demands of more than 70,000 local residents and support regional social and economic development.

State Grid Hebei Electric Power Co., Ltd., a subsidiary of the State Grid Corporation of China, is responsible for the project and has been adhering to the high-quality development of the region's power construction.

In 2021, construction of 15 projects with a voltage of 500 kilovolts and below, 11 continued projects and 76.85 kilometers of 35-kV-plus power lines, as well as 700,000 kVA of power transformation capacity, were completed. This is a significant help in meeting the power needs of large-scale construction projects in Xiongan.
