Hoisting of all vaults of six liquefied natural gas (LNG) storage tanks in Yancheng, East China's Jiangsu Province, which were independently designed and built by China and have the world's largest single unit storage capacity, was completed on May 17.
The completion was a key step in the project, and laid a solid foundation for future construction of the LNG storage tanks.

China Nuclear Industry Fifth Construction Co., Ltd., a subsidiary of China National Nuclear Corporation (CNNC), was responsible for the construction of the Nos 9 and 10 tanks, each of which is able to store as much as 270,000 cubic meters of LNG. They were the last two hoisted of the six tanks.
The tank vaults are dome-shaped with a radius of 90 meters. Each weighing about 819 metric tons, the vault consists of 12 large modules and 12 small ones, making the installation easier.
