China Datang Corporation Ltd. (China Datang) announced that its investment in large- and medium-scale infrastructure projects rose by 17.08 percent year-on-year in the first quarter of 2025.
Several major equipment and infrastructure projects made significant progress in the first quarter. At the Datang Zala Hydropower Station’s 500-megawatt impulse hydropower unit project, key milestones including the breakthrough of two ultra-deep vertical diversion shafts and the start of pressure steel pipe installation were achieved, laying a solid foundation for on-schedule commissioning.
In the field of advanced energy storage, the Zhongning 100 MW/400 MWh compressed air energy storage demonstration project completed 85 percent of its above-ground civil works, while excavation of the main underground chamber was successfully completed.
In the renewable energy sector, the 1-million-kilowatt integrated solar thermal power and photovoltaic energy demonstration project in Shichengzi, Xinjiang Uygur Autonomous Region, is progressing rapidly, with the main building of the 100 MW solar thermal plant reaching a poured height of 16.9 meters.
In Inner Mongolia, the first phase of the 300 MW wind power project in Siziwang Banner has completed foundation construction for the booster station equipment. Meanwhile, in Hunan’s Anxiang County, Datang Xiangtan Power Generation Co., Ltd. is making significant progress on a 220 MW agrivoltaic project with 30 percent completion of the flexible support foundation piles and all 92 tower foundations for the transmission project also finished.
In the clean and efficient coal power sector, the Datang Yuncheng national power demonstration project achieved a major milestone with the successful welding of G115 steel components and completed installation of all GIS combined electrical equipment at the booster station.
At the 2×1,000 MW expansion and upgrade project in Zhuzhou, Hunan Province, more than 3,000 workers are on site working full time to ensure quality, progress, and safety, supported by over 10 tower cranes operating simultaneously. Additionally, in the 2×1,000 MW expansion project in Lyusi Port, pile foundation work for the main plant, chimneys, and other key areas has been completed with 5,384 piles in place, and 60 percent of the intake caisson for the circulating pump house has been submerged.
These developments demonstrate China Datang’s firm commitment to driving clean, low-carbon transformation across the energy sector.
