China’s First Offshore Wind Power Detection Platform Approved

Updated: August 18, 2025

China’s first self-developed offshore wind power integrated detection platform Guo Neng Hai Ce No. 1, created by Longyuan Power Group Corporation Limited (Longyuan Power), a subsidiary of China Energy Investment Corporation Co., Ltd., successfully passed expert evaluation on August 10.

The project solves key technical challenges such as precise offshore cable fault location, and fills a domestic gap in submarine cable magnetic field detection technology.

The platform integrates surface unmanned vessels with underwater robots, for comprehensive scanning of submarine cables, 3D seabed mapping, and 360° inspection of foundation structures using “sound-light-electric-magnetic” technology. This improves detection precision, shortens outage periods, reduces maintenance costs, and enhances safety and efficiency in offshore wind farm operations.

The technology has already been applied in multiple Longyuan Power offshore projects, offering strong technical support for China’s green energy expansion into deeper seas.
