[New Year, New Start] China-Europe Railway Express from Wuhan Sees Double-digit Rises in Train Number and Cargo Value

Updated: March 30, 2026

Wuhan Asia-Europe Logistics Co., Ltd., a subsidiary of Hubei Port Group, dispatched 170 China-Europe Railway Express trains in January and February from Wuhan, capital of Central China’s Hubei Province, transporting cargo valued at nearly 3.15 billion yuan ($457.61 million). The two figures increased by 18.88 percent and 14.61 percent from the same period last year, respectively.

Those trains departing from Wuhan ensured stable and effective international transport, thereby giving strong impetus to Hubei’s opening-up and foreign trade.

Special Trains for Vehicle Export

As the vital means of transporting automobiles made in Hubei to the global market, China-Europe Railway Express ensures that Hubei’s major enterprises can deliver vehicles to their overseas clients.

During Spring Festival, the train operator held to its position to facilitate the export of Dongfeng Motor Corporation Limited (Dongfeng Motor) products. Seven China-Europe Railway Express trains were dispatched specially for Dongfeng Motor, carrying about 1,200 vehicles. Their effective and stable services made them essential for the export of products made in Hubei.

Extended Routes for Better Opening-up

More China-Europe Railway Express runs were arranged while their transport efficiency was enhanced through an optimized route adjustment. The first train in 2026 arrived in Copenhagen, Denmark’s capital, extending the trains’ reach to Northern Europe and enhancing their influence. Now, there are 62 routes for the China-Europe Railway Express from Wuhan to 123 cities in 41 countries in Asia and Europe. Those trains can reliably deliver valuable commodities to markets around the world through extensive routes, ensuring a good start for the first quarter of 2026.

Holding to Position during Spring Festival

During Spring Festival holiday, from February 15 to 23, China-Europe Railway Express continued to run. Fourteen trains were dispatched in a straight nine days, a 27.27-percent increase over the same period last year. Those trains carried cargo worth 317 million yuan ($46.11 million), a 428.33-percent increase over that period in 2025. China-made machines, electronic components and daily necessities were exported, while European baby and maternal products and consumer goods were imported to Hubei. The never-stop train service safely facilitated international logistics.
